ESS Government, specialist provider of foodservice and facilities management to central government, police and secure environments, has secured a new catering contract with South Wales Police. Providing access to nutritious food for officers and staff, plus a commitment to working with Welsh suppliers are key elements of the offer.
The three-year contract went live at the start of October and covers the delivery of catering and hospitality services at the force’s headquarters in Bridgend.
As part of the mobilisation, ESS is investing in the on-site catering facilities to enhance the dining experience for South Wales Police teams.
The menu combines traditional customer favourites, contemporary global favours, street food options, customisable bowl food and extensive deli offers. Customers can select from healthier and more indulgent options, covering a range of dietary requirements. The introduction of two smart markets is providing 24/7 access to high-quality food and drinks, and this provision may be expanded to other areas of the force.
Loyalty rewards will be available via the company’s Time2Eat app.
The new offer places a strong emphasis on supporting the Welsh economy through partnerships with Welsh suppliers, including Ferrari’s Coffee, Wickedly Welsh Chocolate and wholesaler Castell Howell.
The contract award reinforces ESS’s police portfolio which also includes City of London Police, Bedfordshire Police, Hertfordshire Constabulary, the Metropolitan Police, Surrey Police, Sussex Police, Thames Valley Police and West Midlands Police.
The wellbeing of our officers and staff is a key priority, and having access to nutritious, convenient and high-quality catering services is an important part of creating a positive working environment. We are pleased to see Welsh suppliers represented throughout the offer and look forward to working with ESS over the next three years.
We’re thrilled to welcome South Wales Police to our extensive portfolio of blue light contracts. We’re proud to be supporting the force’s officers and staff through a new food offer and out of hours service provision. As part of this, we’re delighted to be working with a range of Welsh businesses in our supply chain. The team has made a great start and I’m looking forward to the positive impact they will have in the coming months and years.
