SOCIAL VALUE PARTNERSHIPS
To ensure we create meaningful action plans, align with best practice principles and measure the qualitative and quantitative impact of our actions, we have established partnerships with:
Institute for Social Value – The professional body for social value and impact management in the UK. We’re working with the organisation to understand the impact of our work and shape our future strategy.
National Social Value Taskforce – Founded to establish a good practice framework to integrate the Public Services (Social Value Act) 2012 into the UK public sector and business community. As a taskforce participant, we play an active role in advancing social value within industry and society.
SOCIAL VALUE MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE
We've achieved Level One of the Social Value Management Certificate by Social Value International, demonstrating our commitment to maximising our social value impact.
The Social Value Management Certificate looks at the systems and processes that an organisation or programme has in place for measuring, managing and maximising social value and is awarded following an extensive examination and evidence period.
Throughout the assessment, our social value team validated our capacity to manage social value over time, our strategy for impact management and operations, our approach to collecting quantitative and qualitative data from stakeholders and how we will use the data to drive decision-making.

SOCIAL VALUE IN OUR SUPPLY CHAIN
Compass Group UK & Ireland’s procurement organisation, Foodbuy, has robust vendor assurance procedures in place, as well as policies covering animal welfare, modern slavery and sustainable sourcing which are applied to all suppliers.
We are key partners of the Buy Social Corporate Challenge, which supports high-profile businesses to spend with social enterprises, and seek to source products from organisations which reinvest their profits into social or environmental missions.
Foodbuy proactively seeks social enterprise, minority-owned and SME suppliers through its Pitch Social events, where organisations are invited to present their products to senior leaders from across the business to assess where they can be introduced. Foodbuy spent £7.4 million with VCSEs (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises) in 2024, a 60% increase from the previous year.
