ESS has welcomed Amanda Hill to its leadership team, as Business Director for its South West Defence contract.

A commercially focused and dynamic leader, Amanda brings extensive experience from across the public and private sectors, together with a strong background in finance, commercial management and operational delivery. With experience of influencing organisations at all levels and across multiple disciplines, she is passionate about building collaborative client relationships, maintaining customer focus and empowering teams to deliver positive results.

Amanda has worked in the Defence sector since 2012, leading a number of key contracts encompassing a wide range of hard and soft FM services. Most recently, she served as Regional Operations Director at VIVO Defence Services, where she was responsible for the delivery of core maintenance services and driving significant project growth. As part of this role, she remobilised the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association contract within a complex relationship matrix, driving customer service.

Previous Defence roles include Services Director at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom and Contract Director at RAF Brize Norton. This combination of experience gives Amanda a broad understanding of delivering essential services across complex Defence environments.

Amanda’s career success has been underpinned by a continued focus on people. She believes in developing strong relationships with clients and colleagues to drive performance and service delivery, and is looking forward to positively impacting the lived experience of the Armed Forces community.

Outside work, Amanda loves to travel as well as exploring closer to home in the beautiful Cotswolds. She is a regular Saturday parkrun participant, although she admits that the cake at the end provides some additional motivation!
