ESS Expands Relationship with Leading UK North Sea Operator

10 August 2022

ESS, the Defence, Energy and Government Services sector of Compass Group UK & Ireland, is expanding its partnership with leading North Sea operator, Ithaca Energy (UK) Ltd., under a new contract to deliver a substantially increased range of services. ESS was selected based on its well-established client relationships, high quality foodservice capability, proactive approach to customer engagement and commitment to FM innovation.

ESS currently supports five offshore assets for Ithaca Energy. Through the recent competitive tender, it retained this business and added a further offshore asset as well as the company’s head office in Aberdeen.

The three-year contract will see ESS delivering a wide range of services. For the offshore facilities this will include catering, entertainment, cleaning, laundry, stores management, office supplies and waste management. At the head office ESS will provide catering, cleaning, maintenance and engineering, security, front of house and site services including mailroom, printing and reprographics, stores management, room bookings, moving services and transport management.

Key elements of the offer are the focus on freshly cooked, appetising, nutritionally balanced meals delivered in partnership with sustainable local suppliers, and a comprehensive consumer engagement strategy including the ESS App, investment in digital media and an exciting, varied marketing calendar. An established FM helpdesk will be available 24/7 and the company will introduce innovative techniques including chemical free cleaning to enhance the service.

The contract will be delivered by ESS Energy, which supports clients in a wide range of environments from gas plants, heliports and airline lounges to platforms, FPSOs, floatels and drilling rigs, as well as offices and facilities onshore.

Ronnie Kelman, Managing Director – ESS Energy, Government & Infrastructure, added:

“We’re delighted that Ithaca Energy has chosen to retain and grow its relationship with ESS. We’ve supported offshore elements of the business for many years and, during this time, collaborated successfully to enhance the customer experience. Taking on an additional offshore asset and the company head office gives us a great opportunity to build on these strong foundations. We’re excited about introducing foodservice and FM innovations, such as the ESS App and chemical free cleaning, to ensure the contract remains at forefront of Soft FM service delivery.”
